6. Cat People (1982)
Based On: Cat People (1942) Directed by Taxi Driver screenwriter Paul Schrader, Cat People is a somewhat delirious horror film about the dangers of sexuality. In that having sex with attractive women like Nastassja Kinski will turn her into a raging black leopard. With a theme song by David Bowie and a score by current it-man Giorgio Moroder, Cat People is a movie that stands out from the considerable shadow of its predecessor. The original Cat People was restricted by its time, but found that not showing the monsters made for a scarier film. The 1982 version doesn't focus on the cat people, but it also wants you to see them in all their glory. While the 1942 version is ultimately more of a classic, the remake is a delightful mixture of scary violence and absurd fun.
