10 Best Horror Movie Villains Who Only Appeared Once

5. David Lo Pan - Big Trouble In Little China

While John Carpenter is a director who’s CV is regularly raided for remakes, the planned Big Trouble In Little China reboot has yet to come together. With the way The Rock’s schedule is going, it probably never will.

That’s good, since it means villain David Lo Pan won’t have to be recast. Actor James Hong was perfect for the role, with Lo Pan being a sorcerer looking to become flesh and blood again after being cursed for centuries. He’s a mixture of scary and hilarious, with one form being a feeble old man and the other being a pale-faced demon who can shoot light out of his eyes. Hong is perfect for both.

He’s ultimately no match for Kurt Russell – and who is? – but Lo Pan remains one of Carpenter’s best villains, and it doubtful a remake will improve on his appearance here.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
