After betraying his friends and starting a new life abroad, former drug addict Renton finds his life in turmoil, and in an attempt to mend bridges and find a way out of his personal and financial troubles returns to Edinburgh to see his old friends.

T2 Trainspotting takes place in a world much like the one we left in 1996's original cult hit, only everyone from that film is older, sadder, but not necessarily wiser. Returning home after a long absence, Renton is forced to reconcile with the fact he ruined his friends' lives.

Directed by Danny Boyle and starring returning faces Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle, and Jonny Lee Miller, T2 is as dark, hilarious, and poignant as its predecessor, but also much more serious and mature, following four vastly different men as they confront the fact they may be doomed.

Energetic and alive with rich ideas, T2 brings its characters' stories full circle, and the results are far better than they had any right to be.
