While Agent 007 has often got up to a lot during his actions prior to the opening titles, this film takes it to a whole new level, with Bond effectively saving the world before the opening credits. The British Spy is unsighted for the first 5 minutes, with the attention instead focussing on some classic back and forth between Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer as M and Admiral Roebuck respectively, as they debate what actions should be taken against terrorists at an arms bazaar.

The action soon kicks off with the realisation that a fighter jet attached with Nuclear missiles is present, but not before the decision is made to blow up the meeting of terrorists. With the upcoming explosion set to make "Chernobyl look like picnic", Bond springs into life in a one man quest to save nuclear fallout across the western world.

While the terrorists do have unexplainable bad aim, the sequence is otherwise shot to perfection, the worried faces in London providing a countdown as Bond heroically makes his way to the fighter jet so he can fly it out of harms way. The scene could have ended with Bond succeeding in this mission, but instead we get a pulsating jet sequence as the British spy is forced to fly the aircraft with his legs while being strangled and fired on at the same time! It's insane action of the highest order.
