10 Best Second Kills In Horror Movies
5. Ben Tramer - Halloween II
There's a distinct irony about the fact that Halloween II's fantastically insane second kill is also the only one in the movie not perpetrated by Michael Myers (Dick Warlock) himself.
We're talking of course about Ben Tramer (Jack Verbois), Laurie Strode's (Jamie Lee Curtis) crush who rather unluckily happened to be wearing a William Shatner mask and boiler suit extremely similar to that appropriated by Myers for his rampage.
And so Ben, drunkenly unaware of the situation, walks straight into the path of a gun-totting Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence), who tries in vain to shoot him.
However, Ben's luck promptly runs out when he's suddenly hit by a speeding cop car, which then careens into a van, smashing Tramer into it and causing a massive explosion which kills him instantly.
Does it really make a lick of sense? No. Is the fact that a cop just murdered an innocent teenager totally glossed over? Yes. But does any of this make the unhinged sequence of events any less awesomely brutal? Absolutely not.
In the very least for anyone who feels bad for Tramer, 2018's Halloween - which serves as a direct sequel to the original 1978 film - effectively brings him back to life by wiping this movie from the continuity. Great kill, though, even if it wasn't directly by Michael's hand.
