10 Big 2020 Movies You Should Be Worried About

5. Birds Of Prey

Birds of Prey
Warner Bros.

Birds Of Prey seems like part Harley Quinn solo flick, part Suicide Squad sequel and part new team up. There’s definitely enough there that it could work out brilliantly, but there’s plenty of reasons to be worried too.

For one, it just seems a little bit too full. As well as Harley, there’s Huntress, Black Canary, Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, Black Mask and Zsasz. Aside from Harley, they’re all newbies who’ll need introductions, while Harley herself is set for a reinvention.

The casting seems pretty solid on a one to one level, but there’s also the matter of dynamics and plot. Can Birds Of Prey shoulder its big cast while giving an audience pleasing spotlight to Harley? The jury’s still out.

The tone of the trailer so far has been frenetic, but that’s something which could work in Birds Of Prey’s favour. Done right, it could carve out a unique identity for the movie, one which plays into Harley’s self styled crazy image. It could also backfire and be a huge mess. Birds Of Prey will have all eyes on it when it releases, and quite a few might be feeling a little nervous right now.
