10 Big 2020 Movies You Should Be Worried About

4. Artemis Fowl

Birds of Prey
Disney

There’s not too much that we’ve seen from Artemis Fowl which suggests we need to worry about it, but that’s because we’re yet to see much at all. It could be awful, it could be average and forgettable or it could be absolutely outstanding.

The big worry though comes from the fact that it’s an adaption of a hugely popular childhood novel, and with that comes the pressure of expectation.

For those who haven’t read the book, there’s not too much reason to worry. It might be good, it might be bad. No skin off your nose. For the book fans though, it’s harder to be to so laidback.

Book adaptations have a tendency to go either way on the silver screen. Harry Potter & Hunger Games were huge successes, but both were still met with fierce criticism from purists, and they’re the good ones.

Reaction to a bad adaptation can spread like wildfire, and can destroy all the name brand recognition the adaptation was supposed to give you. Disney recently struggled to beat the early criticism for A Wrinkle In Time, and will be hoping to avoid that this time around.
