10 Big Actors Who Are Skipping Movies In 2018

5. Harrison Ford

Next Movie: Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

For a brief period of time, Harrison Ford was back! But as soon as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Blade Runner 2049 arrived, they were gone again, the fleeting handful of months Ford was plastered over every multiplex in the world ending as quickly as they came.

And to say that he was "back" doesn't mean that he hadn't been acting before Episode VII - far from it - it just means that Ford was returning to the roles that made his name, and the nostalgia this induced helped the actor rule our hearts once again, just like he did back in his golden days in the 1980s.

But Blade Runner and Star Wars aside, a lot of his recent movies have been poor. From the bland Cowboys & Aliens to the childhood-ruining Indiana Jones 4, it seemed as though Ford was phoning it in... right up until the moment he stepped inside the Millennium Falcon, and the spark inside him was reignited before our very eyes.

The veteran will next be seen - and might last be seen - in 2020's Indiana Jones 5, a sequel that will reunite him with the great Steven Spielberg.

Here's hoping they learned a thing or two from the last Indy movie, eh?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
