8. Akiva Goldsman To Produce Space Invaders Movie

Space Invaders According to The Wrap, Warner Brothers have acquired the feature film rights to the classic 1980s arcade game Space Invaders. The project has already caught the attention of producers Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend, Lone Survivor), Joby Harold (Edge of Tomorrow) and Tory Tunnell (Holy Rollers), who will develop the film under their Weed Road and Safehouse Productions banners. There's no word yet on what the film may be about, and unfortunately there's not much information to be gleaned from the game itself. The iconic shooter featured nothing more than several rows of aliens and their ships, firing lasers at the player's ship below. However, Goldsman is an Oscar-winning writer, so I guess if anyone can come up with something good for this property, it's him.
