2. Fantastic Beasts 2: Ariana Dumbledore Is An Obscurial
In the Harry Potter universe, an Obscurial is a fledgling wizard or witch who develops a dark parasitical magical force as a result of their abilities being suppressed through psychological or physical abuse.
The concept was fleshed out and demonstrated in all of its dark glory in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, with Ezra Miller's tragic character Credence exhibiting this unwanted power, and it could play a major role in its 2018 sequel The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Although it remains unconfirmed, Albus Dumbledore's sister Ariana sounds like she could be an Obscurial. Many of the pieces fit: she suffered childhood trauma in the form of abuse at the hands of muggle kids, and had these unexplained magical outbursts as a result, one of which killed her mother.
Expect Ariana's status as an Obscurial to be officially confirmed in The Crimes of Grindelwald as the Dumbledore family's history is explored deeper. If nothing else, it would be an interesting way to link the spinoff series to the mainline Harry Potter franchise.
