10 Brilliant Films That Are Easy Targets For Haters

9. Man Of Steel (2013)

Man Of Steel was one of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2013. The first Superman film since Bryan Singer’s fairly boring Superman Returns, fans and critics were eager to see what Zack Snyder would do with the iconic superhero.

The end result was one of the most divisive films in recent history - a radically different Superman movie, one without Lex Luthor and Kryptonite that took a far more downcast trajectory. In fact, one of the biggest gripes with the film was the fact that it was so gloomy. However, this is arguably the film’s biggest strength.

Fans had been clamoring for a good, "serious" Superman film for quite awhile. And although the film does contain a fair amount of needless violence and overblown spectacle, it also has substantial emotional weight.

Briskly-paced, action-packed and featuring a stellar cast, Man Of Steel is debatably the best Superman film since the 1978 original and proved DC can match Marvel in terms of scope. Quite simply, MOS is an adrenalin rush - a welcome jab in the arm and a large-scale escapist fantasy that time will undoubtedly see more favourably.
