10 Cancelled X-Men Movies We Almost Got

9. Kitty Pryde

Bit of a strange one here.

Back in January 2018, it was quietly announced that Fox were working on a Kitty Pryde solo film. No one had really asked for one, she seemed to have retconned herself out of importance with Days Of Future Past, and while she’s a major mutant in the comics, it still felt like there were several in front of her.

Even with Days Of Future Past, though she got by far her biggest on screen role, it was still only a tiny portion of Kitty’s influence in the comic Days Of Future Past.

Added to that, they gave her a new on screen ability with no explanation, and seemed to be relying on Ellen Page’s marketability for the role to mean anything.

That said, the January 2018 movie sounded promising from what little we know. Comic book legend Brian Michael Bendis was set to write the script, with Tim Miller (of Deadpool) directing.

This hasn’t been officially cancelled, but then it hasn’t been officially anything after that first press release in January 2018. Following the Fox-Disney merger, the poor reception to Dark Phoenix and Marvel carefully constructing the MCU, it’s safe to say this one’s dead.
