10 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Deserved More Screen Time

5. Scarecrow (The Dark Knight Trilogy)

scarecrow1 One of Batman's classic comic book foes, the Scarecrow, was present in all three instalments of Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, yet he was never the main focus in any of them and that's a crying shame. He got his main moment in the spotlight in the first movie - Batman Begins - when, allied with Ra's al Ghul and Carmine Falcone, he played a major part in the plot to release fear gas all over Gotham City. His time on screen in that movie saw him manage to spray Batman with his fear toxin and set him on fire, get sprayed with his own toxin which caused him to see Batman as a hideous monster, don a scarecrow mask when dealing with his patients (who had been sprayed with fear gas) to scare them in to insanity and escaping from Arkham at the end on a horse. However, he always played second fiddle to Ra's al Ghul in that movie when a character of his standing deserved a movie of his own, as Batman's main villain. His subsequent appearances in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises were even more brief and that was a real shame.
