10 Comic Book Movie Storylines That Still Need Resolving

3. Odin's Whereabouts & Loki's Rule (Thor: The Dark World)

In Thor: The Dark World, Loki somewhat made up for his past deeds by helping Thor to fight the combined threat of Malekith and Kurse, apparently sacrificing himself in the process and he took a blade to the stomach to save Thor from being killed himself. However, at the end of the movie, when we thought we'd just witnessed Thor telling Odin of Loki's sacrifice, and once Thor had gone, Odin's form changed in to that of Loki's, revealing that the mischievous adopted brother of Thor had not perished, had somehow got rid of Odin and was using an illusion to pose as the Allfather in order to sit on the throne of Asgard. We still need to find out how Loki usurped Odin, what has happened to the rightful king of Asgard and what Loki intends to do during his false rule of the realm - and we're sure to find out in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
