10 Creepiest Movie Mistakes Ever
1. Mark Watney's Changing Handwriting - The Martian
Ridley Scott's Best Picture-nominated sci-fi crowd-pleaser is an expertly crafted blockbuster for the most part, albeit one which isn't without a few technical quirks, shall we say.
When stranded astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) leaves the Ares III site at the start of the movie's third act, in two different camera set-ups we can see that Watney has signed his name distinctly differently.
While this is clearly just a continuity error where one portion of the scene was likely re-shot later in production, in a film where a human is stranded on Mars of all places, it does raise some eyebrows.
Could Watney have been body-snatched by an actual Martian who couldn't quite imitate his behaviour - namely, his handwriting - with 100% exactitude?
Suddenly the movie's title has a whole new meaning, as the film is actually a low-key prelude to Mars' invasion of Earth, maybe?
Or as Freud famously said, sometimes a continuity error is just a continuity error.
