10 Disney Live-Action Remakes That Won't Happen
8. Robin Hood
Despite its status as a cult classic among Disney animation enthusiasts and its commercial success it is unlikely that Disney will do a live-action remake of 1973's Robin Hood.
Despite initial critical acclaim upon its release Robin Hood has faced harsher critical reception as time has moved on, with many critics saying it fails to live up to Disney animated films of a similar time, such as The Jungle Book. Therefore, Disney may not wish to revive a film that has failed to pass the test of time with critics.
However, the key blockade to a Disney live-action remake of Robin Hood would have to be the recent box office and critical failures of recent adaptations, such as Robin Hood 2018 starring Taron Egerton and 2010's Ridley Scott directed Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe.
These critical and financial failures have only worn down the desire of audiences to see another adaptation of Robin Hood, and therefore can help to explain the lack of desire Disney have to remake their Robin Hood in live-action.
