10 Dumbest Miscastings In Recent Movies

6. Bryce Dallas-Howard - Argylle

Bryce Dallas-Howard is a talented actress, and she's shown this on plenty of occasions. She just about emerged unscathed from the ill-judged Jurassic World trilogy (during which she outran a T-Rex in high heels) and has given many powerful performances in works such as The Help, the Black Mirror episode Nosedive, and even in a couple of regrettable M. Night Shyamalan joints (The Village and Lady in the Water).

She can do a good dramatic performance, but can she pull off an action hero role? Well, based on Argylle, perhaps not. She was just fine when her character was more of a comedic figure, presented as a bewildered author on the run, but once the character was revealed as a former spy with amnesia, she didn't look comfortable in the action scenes and didn't quite have the badass charisma to pull the part off.

As is the case with pretty much every role on this list, there were many obvious choices they could've gone for instead - Emily Blunt or Halle Berry? - and as such, this is another head-scratcher. After all, casting a name who's more of a box-office draw than Howard might've saved Argylle from flopping as badly as it did, and a more suitable lead might've made it less of a chore to sit through as well.
