The transition from comic book to film has always been quite difficult for Marvels Fantastic Four over the years. First there was the terrible B-movie produced by Roger Corman during the 90s that ultimately went unreleased (because it was indeed that bad). Then in 2005 we got an updated version; that wasn't much better in the grand scheme of things. For the upcoming reboot, Chronicle director Josh Trank is going to attempt to make up for the sins of the past; and its no secret that many fans have been somewhat apprehensive. Many people wonder how much respect the film will have for its source material. However, one familiar aspect looks like it will be making an appearance the Doombots - and they have the potential to be quite awesome. In the comics, Doombots served a number of functions. Some, the kind more likely to be utilized in the movie, were attack drones modeled after Doom himself, capable of flight, superhuman strength and energy projection. Whatever the case, chances are that when these guys face off against our heroes itll make the film an instant improvement over its decidedly average predecessor.
