2. The Skrull Empire
Marvel promises that these shapeshifting aliens will have prominent roles in their eagerly anticipated Captain Marvel film, but they are as of yet absent from the MCU's existing titles, despite their sworn enemy, the Kree, playing a large part in both the Guardians films and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Inhumans storyline.
The Skrulls as a whole have provided Marvel with one of the most paranoia-inducing, massive and world-changing events in the comics universe, the Secret Invasion. Not knowing who to trust, when the Skrulls are able to perfectly capture not only the appearance, but also the mannerisms and memories of the person they're replacing, makes for some of the most terrifying invasion stories in popular media.
Add that to the Skrull's warrior culture and cult-like willingness to follow and die for their Queen, Veranke, the Secret Invasion is a story Marvel fans are holding their breath for.
And as if a regular Skrull wasn't bad enough, there's even the Super Skrull to consider, a Skrull warrior who was able to copy the super powers of all the Fantastic Four members. All these possibilities with a single alien race—is it any wonder fans are excited for them to appear in Captain Marvel?
