10 Female Movie Characters You Wouldn't Wanna Mess With

3. Annie Wilkes (Misery)

Annie-Wilkes Anne Marie Wilkes Dugan, usually known as Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), was the main antagonist of Stephen King's Misery and its film adaptation. She was a demented, obsessive nurse and the self-proclaimed biggest fan of her favourite author, Paul Sheldon. In the movie, Annie broke Paul out of his trapped car during a snowstorm. She first appeared to be a kind, nurturing caregiver, but when she learned that Paul plans to kill off her favourite character in his novels, Misery Chastain, she almost killed him. She then forced Paul to burn his new novel and told him to write a new one. While doing so, he tried to escape several times. When she learned about this, Annie brutally broke Paul's ankles with a sledgehammer and said to him "God I love you" in one of the most iconic and disturbing moments in thriller movie history. When the local sheriff visits Annie's house to investigate the disappearance of Paul, she shoots him dead there and then. She's genuinely one of the most twisted, terrifying women in movie history and should not me messed with, period.
