10 Films For People Who Hate Fantasy

6. Mary Poppins

Do you love to sing but hate fantasy? This movie will show you that you can love both. Okay, maybe you can't sit through "old" movies, albeit the inclusion of Julie Andrews in peak vocal performance should sway you on that. You're still in luck, as this movie saw a sequel in 2018. Whichever you choose, it's a title that appeals to all ages.

Most people are familiar with the plot. The Banks family requires a nanny to look after their two children, who write a letter describing the perfect nanny. The letter is torn and swept up into the sky, and that's when we meet Mary Poppins. Though Mary is the epitome of smart, strong, and sensible many amusing events ensue.

Sometimes the world needs a little magic. Everyone is going through a difficult time, and sometimes an escape is necessary. Mary Poppins is a perfect movie for taking a break and spending time in a silly musical world.
