10 Films Hollywood Could Remake With All Female Casts

3. Men In Black

Men In Black
Columbia Pictures

The Original: While pursuing a seemingly invincible suspect, James Edwards (Will Smith) encounters Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones), who’s part of a top secret organization that protects Earth from extra-terrestrial invaders.

The Remake: What really made the original films work was the dynamic between fast-talking Smith and the permanently grouchy Jones, but is there any way to replicate that without recycling The Heat’s pairing of Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock? How about Mindy Kaling (The Office) for the Smith role and Jane Lynch (Glee) as her uptight partner? Or if the studio needs “names”, then it’s Jennifer Hudson and Emily Blunt.

Would It Work? If the script is good, there’s some chemistry between the stars and the jokes are funny, then it’ll be a better movie than Men In Black II. Throw in Jessica Lange as Z, and it’s a done deal.
