10 Films That Really Didn't Deserve Razzie Nominations
1. The Last Temptation Of Christ
A biblical epic of a film about the life and death of Jesus Christ, starring a noted thespian in Willem Dafoe, directed by the noted auteur, Martin Scorcese, and even nominated for a Best Director Oscar.
Sounds like a surefire way to get nominated for some Razzies, right?
Somehow or another, the Razzies saw fit to target Scorcese's recounting of Christ's final temptations (one of the numerous films that should have won him an Oscar prior to 2006) and make a farce out of it. In nominating Harvey Keitel in the Worst Supporting Actor category for his take on the infamous Judas, the Razzies grossly overstepped their normal boundaries and made a blunder that continues to haunt them to this day.
For the love of all that is holy, Keitel's performance was neck-and-neck with the atrocity that is Dan Ackroyd's role in Caddyshack II to the Razzie voters? Come on guys, you're better than this.
