Gwendoline Christie was badly underused in Star Wars, but her role in Game Of Thrones as honourable swordswoman Brienne definitely showcased her capabilities to play Angela.

Brienne was a slow burn of a character, never dominating the spotlight but ever present. She grew with each passing season, and Christie’s performance had subtle growth. Having her story end with her crying in the rain then detailing the achievements of the man who left her for his own sister was an... odd choice, but overall she was still a magnificent character.

Thor’s other sister, an angel ripped from Heaven to work as a demon bounty hunter, would certainly allow Christie more room to breathe than Captain Phasma. The character is adept with a sword and has a strong, personal sense of justice, often relentless once she sets her mind to it.

There’s a lot of similarities to Brienne there which makes you wonder if Christie would fear being typecast, but there’s not too many hand to hand combat roles for six foot three women, and their characters’ alignments are very different.

With Asgardians Of The Galaxy teased at the end of Endgame, Angela could be teaming up with Valkyrie, Korg and Meik sooner rather than later.
