10 Good Actors Trapped Making Terrible Movies
7. Bruce Willis
Though Bruce Willis' acting chops aren't as celebrated as most of the other actors on this list, when he actually gives a damn he's capable of stellar stuff, from his iconic performance in Die Hard, to his fantastic turn in The Sixth Sense, and most recently, his memorable work in 2012's Looper.
Looper was also his last movie to score positive reviews, with all sixteen (!) of his subsequent releases being panned, as the actor began his descent into the straight-to-VOD thriller dungeon. And no, his Split cameo doesn't count as a streak-breaker because that would be cheating.
Here's the whole, sorry list: Fire with Fire, Lay the Favourite, A Good Day to Die Hard, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Red 2, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, The Prince, Vice, Rock the Kasbah, Extraction, Precious Cargo, Marauders, Once Upon a Time in Venice, First Kill, Acts of Violence and Death Wish.
In most of these movies, Willis seems bored and distracted, presumably thinking about what he's going to do with all that money.
Though he's got plenty more VOD-bait on the way, not to mention a sixth Die Hard movie, there are two promising potential streak-breakers: M. Night Shyamalan's Glass and the Edward Norton-directed crime drama Motherless Brooklyn. Fingers crossed.
