10 Great Directors Who Should Really Helm A Superhero Movie

5. Kathryn Bigelow

Bigelow is someone I named as a great candidate all the way back in my Wonder Woman article, and I still stand by her as the definitive person to direct that film. The woman behind The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty hasn't yet announced her next project, and it would be phenomenal if she made the switch to some more commercial fare, especially if it's only just for one amazing, exhausting shot. Maybe they'd let her direct the first real lady superhero movie, since Elektra doesn't count because ooooohhhh boy does Elektra not count. Girl power, Ms. Bigelow. Girl power.
