10 Great Horror Films You Probably Missed In 2015

7. Howl

The director of this entry, Paul Hyett, is revered and best know for his work as a decorated SFX artist, creating effects for such genre classics as The Decent, Attack The Block and Dog Soldiers. Hyett€™s second bash at direction, Howl, looks to redefine the werewolf movie, disposing of the full moon clichés while still keeping the spirit of a retro creature-feature. The film stars Ed Speelers as a disillusioned train conductor about to embark on the most nightmarish journey of his life. What€™s worse than annoying passengers on a train? Werewolves. That€™s what. Also, in an interesting take on the mythology, the lycanthropes transform over years as a virus effects their bones and muscles creating a gnarly, wolf-human hybrid. Howl is a fast-paced, claustrophobic affair that explores character distrust and an ominous threat in the vein of The Thing€ all whilst stuck on a train!

Most of my time is occupied by reading, staring at a screen, being oppressed by the government and awaiting the return of the Great Old One Cthulhu... I also write a little too.
