10 Great Movie Scenes Caught In The Rain

5. The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

When the battle of Helm's Deep occurs in the 2nd installment of Peter Jackson's epic Lord Of the Rings trilogy, thousands of Uruk-hai soldiers trounce along in the mud to meet their fate. As they stand in front of the massive fortress ready for battle we see their breath in the cold air, and the rain beading off their body armor. Jackson creates a sequence in the rain with such detail it puts the audience right there on the battleground. The rain adds even more of an effect of realism and tension when an elderly bow master on the opposing Rohirrim side lets his arrow slip through his grip a bit early into the neck of an unsuspecting Uruk-hai, starting a most gargantuan battle and a thoroughly enjoyable sequence.
