10 Great Movies Starring The Cast Of Buffy The Vampire Slayer

By far the biggest film to involve a Buffy star is the 1999 teen sex romp American Pie. It’s hard to believe that this picture is 22 years old, and in 2021 its stock has dropped somewhat, by virtue of endless regrettable sequels, the humdrum careers of most of its stars and, in fairness, better teen sex romps (e.g. Superbad).

But rewatch it without the detritus in mind and it holds up remarkably well. The sexual material is beyond basic (and some of it downright problematic two decades hence), but as a treatise on stupid teenage boy friendship, it gets everything bang on. Sean William Scott is a gem and Jason Biggs has never been so bearable.

As one of the most prominent female characters, Alyson Hannigan also takes her one and only swing at a big screen career. It didn’t go too well for her, but she’s great value here, delivering one of the franchise’s most memorable riffs concerning a woodwind instrument going somewhere it shouldn’t.

The vibe was taken somewhat out of Hannigan’s Michelle as she was forced to take even further back of a seat to allow for more bawdy boy antics, but she left an indelible mark on teen flicks here.
