The term "Rambo" is now commonly used to define a person who is reckless, exceptionally tough and fearless, and who uses violence as a means to succeed. If that doesn't tell you just how willing and capable Sylvester Stallone's protagonist is, then nothing will. A Vietnam veteran suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, John Rambo uses the harrowing events of his past ventures to propel him forwards throughout this epic action-packed saga. There is nothing Rambo will not stab, shoot or explode in order to get the job finished, and more often than not, his job is to survive. He has limitless strength and stamina, is able to adapt and flourish in dense forests against large numbers of foes due to his experiences in the Vietnam War, plus he is a master of guerrilla tactics, weapons, and hand-to-hand combat. Throughout the film series, Stallone's all-muscle, all-action hero is attacked by the police, the Soviets and even the Burmese Army, but never are they able to seize this ruthless killer's existence. His nine-to-five really is staying alive.
