10 Greatest Films For Fashion Lovers

1. The True Cost

Clueless Film
Life Is My Movie

This film is not quite like the others, but it is still about the fashion industry. This thought provoking documentary investigates the links between rising consumer demand for fast, cheap fashion, and the meagre, appalling conditions in which sweatshop workers are forced to exist in order to produce them.

Sparking from the disaster in Bangladesh in 2013, when a factory collapsed killing over 1100 sweatshop workers, this films seeks to answer the questions rising from the collapse. With interviews from British fashion industry experts, right down to the survivors and the families of the deceased, the audience really gets a thorough look at why conditions were so poor, and how this is still continuing throughout India, and indeed in many other parts of the world.

This will have you asking some serious questions about where your clothes come from, and the film really highlights the human and environmental costs that arise from such a laid back attitude to fashion. Not really recommended as easy viewing, but if you have any interest in ethical fashion then this definitely is a must watch.
