10 Greatest MCU End Credits Scenes
7. Spider-Man: Homecoming
By the time Marvel's Phase Three had gotten underway, the end credits scene had become something that fans just accepted. Compared to the exposition that we would get in the other films, the act of sitting around until the very last frame for just another bit made this universe all the more endearing. On the other hand, one of the best may have been the one that was the least necessary.
Up until this point, we had seen Captain America turn up in different cheesy physical education videos in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he was basically just a cheap gag for Spider-Man to riff off of. Even though the first end credits scene shows us the fate of Michael Keaton's Vulture as he is locked away in prison, people started to perk up once they saw Cap back on screen in the final shot.
So, is he going to talk about what Spider-Man is going to be in the Avengers? No... not at all. As a way of acknowledging the silliness of the end credits scenes, this entire bit is Cap talking about patience, as he basically pokes fun at everyone who waited in the theater to see something so disappointing.
In any other hands, this would be considered lazy and even disrespectful to the audience, and yet the charm on display here is more than worth staying for.
