We can't really have a discussion of meta science fiction movies without including the merc with the mouth. Deadpool is as meta a science fiction franchise as exists.
The main character's fourth wall breaking was established in the comics and adapted perfectly in the films. What we as the audience have been treated to are two fun filled, self referential joy rides of utter insanity.
The second film's time travel plot takes the meta humor one step beyond as Deadpool in what must be one of the the most memorable post-credits scenes of all time travels up and down his timeline ( and Ryan Reynold's film career) correcting mistakes.
