10 Greatest Superhero Movie Endings Of All Time
1. Logan
For the longest time, movie trilogies seemed to always drop the ball with the third entry. However, the Wolverine films went in the opposite direction. The first two may be forgettable, but the final movie, Logan, is a work of art and a perfect send-off to one of the most beloved superheroes ever.
Even though we're use to seeing the Canadian badass kicking butt and slashing his enemies to ribbons, this movie focuses on a more vulnerable side of Wolverine. Suffering from old age and chronic pain, we've never seen Wolvie seem so broken.
But when he learns a young mutant called Laura is in trouble, he vows to protect her, forming a father/daughter relationship with the child. In the end, Logan is left mortally wounded defending the girl. In his last moments, he begs Laura not to let herself be turned into a weapon like he was. As she cradles her father-figure's body, it's nearly impossible not to get choked up.
As she buries him, she places a cross on his grave, only to rotate it so it forms an X to remind the world that Wolverine wasn't just a great man; he was a true hero and an X-Man.
