7. Professor Flitwick’s Time As A Duelling Champion
Given Professor Flitwick’s time as a duelling champion was mentioned once in all seven Harry Potter books, such a detail isn’t particularly well-known.
What’s more, the duelling side of Harry Potter never really excelled on the big screen. With the exception of Dumbledore’s fight with Voldemort during the finale of The Order of the Phoenix, the majority of duels throughout the franchise simply involved a lot of sporadic wand-waving and not much else. (This is especially the case with the Fantastic Beasts films.)
But with a story based specifically around duelling, this aspect of Rowling’s world could be brought to life much more effectively.
This would also be beneficial to Flitwick’s character. As charming as he was, the head of Ravenclaw House was not a particularly nuanced character. A story focused on his time as a duelling champion would add some much-needed depth to Flitwick.
