10 Harsh Truths About The MCU Fans Won't Admit

1. There's Just Too Much Now

If you were to count Spiderman: No Way Home's Christmas release as a technical 2022 film, Marvel Studios are set to release four new superhero movies this year alone. Coupled with the tidal wave of shows that came straight to Disney Plus last year and later on this year, you can't say that production has slowed down on the superhero front.

Now it is definitely good to see actors get work, visions get put to screen and characters that weren't always treated fairly finally get a moment in the spotlight (hello Hawkeye!), but there just seems to be a lot of content for audiences to keep track of these days. Gone are the days of two films a year, and replaced by more superhero content you can shake a stick at.

It might sound ungrateful to say, but Disney's extra-jolt of content creation has bloated their own market quite considerably. Two years ago, fans would be hard-pressed for new MCU content, and now you're likely to find something new hiding under the bed. With so many pieces of content being made and many more in the pipeline, it's starting to get a little hard to show the same consistent level of excitement fans once had only a few years ago.

Let's be honest with ourselves and ask if we watched all those Disney Plus series because we wanted to, or because we felt like we had to? With so many of them being force-fed to MCU fans, we might even be gritting our teeth through some of them too.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
