10 Hidden Meanings Of Famous Movie Scenes

2. Not Ready To Be Scrapped - Skyfall

When Bond meets Q for the first time in Skyfall, they’re in a museum looking at a painting. The picture - The Fighting Temeraire - features an old, past its prime battleship being taken out to scrap, which Q likens to Bond's place in the modern world. Q might be onto something too, but Bond quickly prove he’s not finished just yet.

After Bond defeats Silva at the climax he heads back to M’s office for his new mission, and in the background – if you pay close attention – there’s a painting of a fully functional battleship on the wall. The old has returned.

It means Bond isn’t finished just yet, and after his last battle he’s rejuvenated and ready for more action. It seems to be an in-joke intended for audience members who are really into paintings of battleships, but it’s a cute gag nonetheless.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
