It's not often you get the chance to bring your mothers to work, but once director Edgar Wright and actor Simon Pegg saw an opportunity to do so in 2007's Hot Fuzz they did not hesitate.

There's a couple of interesting cameo appearances throughout the second feature in the Cornetto trilogy. Peter Jackson famously played the man dressed as Father Christmas stabbing Pegg's Nicholas Angel through the hand and Cate Blanchett pops up as his masked girlfriend early in the film. However, a pair of cameos which weren't as well-documented came during the epic shoot-out finale which took place on the fictitious streets of Sandford.

Pegg and Wright's mothers are seen judging the 'Village of the Year' contest as Sergeant Angel and Constable Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) speed off in pursuit of Simon Skinner (Timothy Dalton) and Danny's father Inspector Frank Butterman (Jim Broadbent).

Also, the man standing in the middle of the proud mothers is none other than the director's high school drama teacher. What a reuinion!

How lovely it must have been to witness your son or student producing absolute chaos in the middle of an unassuming village.
