10 Hollywood Stars You Didn't Know Had Killed People
8. Howard Hughes
Howard Hughes is one of the 20th century's most iconic business and aviation figures as well as a masterful movie producer. He produced films such as; Hell's Angels (1930), Scarface (1932), and The Outlaw (1943). On July 11, 1936, Hughes struck and killed a pedestrian named Gabriel S. Meyer with his car in Los Angeles. Although Hughes had been drinking, an eye-witness claimed that Hughes was driving erratically but would later change their story. Hughes was booked on suspicion of negligent homicide but the charges never stuck. Hughes told reporters outside the inquiry, "I was driving slowly and a man stepped out of the darkness in front of me." Of course, he would end up paying hefty sums to the victim's family and in court costs.
