10 Horror Film Franchises Worse Than Paranormal Activity
4. Pulse
Having gotten a taste for cheap and nasty horror sequels with the Children Of The Corn franchise, Dimension Films went to town and began cranking out follow-ups to films that were neither well-regarded nor sizable hits, including Dracula 2000, Prophecy and Mimic. Worst of the lot (discuss) is their Pulse franchise, which makes watching ice melt seem like a cosy alternative. If you havent seen Pulse (2006), which was itself based on a 2001 Japanese movie, the plot is very straightforward: bald spider-walking ghosts start preying on nerds, whove somehow managed to pull them through their Wi-Fi. This brings about the downfall of mankind. The End. Incredibly, Dimension managed to ring 2 sequels out of this, but budgetary constraints meant they couldnt afford to stage a post-apocalyptic society, so they backtrack slightly and focus on boring characters who encounter ghosts. In Pulse 2 (2008), its a man whose late wife is threatening him and their daughter via e-mail, while Pulse 3 (2008) gives us some tosh about a teenage girl searching for her internet lover.
