10 Horror Franchises Set For A Huge 2025

M3GAN 2.0
Universal Pictures

M3GAN was one of the horror hits of 2022, proving an extremely fresh, well-executed take on the classic 'killer doll' trope. As such, it was no surprise whatsoever to see a sequel greenlit, with that follow-up set for a June 2025 release.

Titled M3GAN 2.0, the response to this second outing for the titular doll will make or break the future of this burgeoning franchise. Provide something great and of a similar tone to the first movie, while introducing new elements to make it not a straight-up rehash of that 2022 picture, and there'll surely be plenty of interest in a M3GAN 3.0.

Given the very nature of technological advancements, the M3GAN IP has so much juice in the tank for further films, with each new movie having the potential to explore whatever tech developments have come along in the past couple of years. Regardless of those possibilities though, first and foremost is the quality of the product. If M3GAN 2.0 delivers the goods, that opens up the door for so many opportunities.

However, if M3GAN 2.0 disappoints, that could bring an end to the series at just two films, with it becoming one of those properties where people just think about the one good movie, then try their best to forget a sequel ever even happened.
