10 Horror Movie Characters Who Deserved To Die

8. Paul Serone - Anaconda

"Don't pick up hitchhikers" apparently applies to boats on the Amazon River, not just cars.

While 1997's Anaconda may be contemporarily regarded as more of a comedy than a full blown horror due to the over the top performances and appallingly cartoonish CGI, what cannot be questioned is how much the human villain of the piece, famed snake hunter Paul Serone, deserves to die.

Portrayed by Jon Voight in an endlessly hammy performance that features a disastrous attempt at a Paraguayan accent, Serone is just a straight up bad dude. The snake hunter is in rabid pursuit of a gargantuan anaconda and will stop at nothing to secure the beast's capture, much to the misfortune of the occupants of the boat that picks him up.

Serone is imprisoned after he causes the death of a crew member, the mask fully slips soon after, revealing him to be an unhinged lunatic. Not only does he brutally murder a female crew member to make his escape, the snake hunter is so singularly focused on his ludicrous goal of capturing the monstrous anaconda that he eventually captures the two surviving members of the party and ties them up as bait for the snake. A truly charming individual.

In a delicious comeuppance, Serone is eventually snared by the anaconda and ingested whole, although the snake does proceed to barf up his still living, partially digested body in front of a horrified Jennifer Lopez. While the sight of the saliva-drenched villain is nauseating stuff, the absolutely vile nature of his character make his a thoroughly satisfying, let alone deserved, death.
