10 Horror Movie Characters Who Deserved To Die

7. Louis Creed - Pet Sematary

You know the old saying: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The 2019 remake of Stephen King's Pet Sematary (and indeed, the book and the original film) feature one of the stupidest characters in horror history. In terms of sensibility, Louis Creed's actions are on par with one coating one's own rear end in honey and plonking themselves down in a fire ant nest.

Creed discovers the titular pet cemetery (the title is misspelled in a ghoulishly childish manner) when he is led there by his neighbor Jud, after his daughter's Ellie's cat Church is run over by a truck. Bury something in the pet cemetery and it returns to life. Problem solved.

Except not really, as Church soon starts to demonstrate behavior more suited to a slavering hell-hound than a cat. After attacking Louis, he is released into the wild so he can no longer pose a threat; that is until Ellie spots him in the road and rushes to meet him, only to be traumatically run down.

While one would understandably be emotionally destroyed at the death of their own child, that should not be the green light to take leave of one's senses. Creed - who is also a doctor, just to make the series of events even more ridiculous - buries and resurrects his dead daughter in the pet cemetery. In the least shocking twist possible, Ellie returns to life before promptly proceeding to murder Louis, his wife Rachel and Jud in brutal fashion.

One dreads to imagine the medical school Louis graduated from.
