10 Horror Movie Characters Who Died Off-Screen In The Sequel

1. Rudy - House Of The Dead 2

Uwe Boll's big-screen adaptation of the legendary House of the Dead video game franchise is, of course, absolute trash, but it's nevertheless not without its amusingly schlocky moments.

The action-horror flick ends with two central characters surviving - Rudy (Jonathan Cherry) and his girlfriend Alicia (Ona Grauer).

A sequel materialised two years later in 2005, where it's revealed that Rudy and Alicia were both subdued by Rudy's father, Professor Roy Curien (Sid Haig), in order to be studied.

However this led to Alicia, who was given an "immortality" serum at the end of the first film, turning on Rudy and killing him; all while the serum causes Alicia's body to keep rotting away. We have to rely on just being told this, though, because the movie doesn't actually show it, sadly.

Likeable characters weren't exactly in abundant supply in either House of the Dead movie, but given that Rudy was the first film's lead, it was still totally underwhelming to see him offed so listlessly in the sequel.

All the more so, given that the first film initially implied Rudy to be a proto version of the video game series' original human villain, Dr. Curien. With Rudy's off-screen death, though, those plans were evidently jettisoned into space.
