10 Horror Movies Monsters That Just DIDN'T Work
4. Godmonster - Godmonster Of Indian Flats
When a beast has earned the label "godmonster," you expect it to look epic. But the titular fiend from Godmonster of Indian Flats is anything but.
In this horror western, a doctor incubates a mutated sheep embryo, causing it to transform into a man-eating abomination.
Despite the fact that sheep aren't particularly scary, this idea could work. For example, the murderous farm animals in Black Sheep are genuinely unsettling at times, even though that's a horror-comedy.
Having said that, the godmonster is beyond ridiculous. The costume itself is so cheap, it's clearly made from foam rubber. Rather than looking like a creature that leaves people quaking in their boots, the godmonster looks like a guy wearing a deteriorating Snuffleupagus outfit.
Instead of using subtle angles or the cover of darkness to hide the fact that the godmonster is a man in a costume, most of the scenes are in broad daylight.
It's also funny how this creature repeatedly sneaks up on its victims on a clear blue sky despite being 8ft tall.
What's worse is the godmonster doesn't appear in its final form for over an hour, making its reveal more anticlimactic.
