10 Horror Movies That Had No Right To Be This Good

You can turn almost anything into a scary villain in a horror movie. With that being said, there are a few things filmmakers tend to avoid, as they often come across as corny, cheesy or goofy. One thing that fits that category like a glove is haunted clothing.

Pieces of clothing that become evil aren't the kind of thing you'd want to make an elevated horror movie out of. But, lo and behold, A24's In Fabric came along and did just that. That's right; it's a dress. The movie is about a cursed dress, and it's fantastic.

In Fabric tells the tale of Sheila, a divorced, lonely woman who comes into possession of the infamous piece of fabric. However, supernatural events follow suit, putting her, her family, and many others in mortal danger.

The film is very self-aware and does its best to acknowledge the ludicrousness of its concept. While there is undoubtedly a tongue-in-cheek vibe to the film, it still chucks chills and thrills your way thanks to the tension, acting and well-paced editing.

Part of what makes the movie so fascinating is how surprisingly believable the dress is as a threat. You can genuinely sense something mystic and terrifying about the situation, and the killer finale will leave you speechless.
