10 Horror Movies You Won't Be Able To Sleep After Watching
1. The Dark And The Wicked
The number one entry on our list is also arguably the most overlooked.
In The Dark and The Wicked, despite their mother's advice against it, a brother and sister return to their family farm to help take care of their dying father. Has grief broken the mind of their mom? Or is something sinister lurking on the land? Unfortunately for them, they'll soon find the answer.
The movie is absolutely bone-chilling. Even in its more quiet and restrained moments, you never feel a sense of security. There is a constant, overwhelming feeling of dread leaking out of every single frame. It wants you to never feel safe, to feel as though anything could happen at anytime. The film utilises its depth of frame, in both close and wide shots, to keep your eyes locked on the screen out of both curiosity and fear of what you might see.
Two scenes in particular stand out in terms of the movie's scariest moments. Both of them involve people trying to get a good night's sleep, yet failing, much like you will.
