10 Huge WTF Movie Post-Credits Moments
1. Introducing Hitler - The King's Man
It was Nick Fury stepping from the shadows to speak to Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative that began cinema's obsession with post-credit scenes, but almost just as influential was the reveal of Thanos as the MCU's big bad at the end of The Avengers four years later.
The post-credit scene became a viable way to tease a bigger villain down the line, and while some movies have taken it and used it well, others took it too far. Arguably none more so than The King's Man.
The prequel to Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman franchise saw the establishment of the titular intelligence agency as Orlando Oxford (Ralph Fiennes) and Shola (Djimon Honsou) shared their story with several characters from real-life's history, including Rhys Ifans' Grigori Rasputin, and Tom Hollander's triple role as King George V, Kaiser Wilhelm II, and Tsar Nicholas II. How could this be topped? How about a Thanos-esque reveal of an even greater villain from the realms of reality?
Yes, The King's Man introduced to the franchise Adolf Hitler (David Kross) like he was the Mad Titan, as the next big bad the Kingsmen would have to take down. Unfortunately, this was in poor taste, and missed the mark by a wide margin, putting a dampener on what was otherwise an enjoyable if flawed outing.
