10 Hugely Talented Actors That Should Be Bigger Stars
5. Frank Grillo
The rapid rise of Frank Grillo continues this year as he joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Brock Rumlow, who may or may not become the villain Crossbones, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It caps a remarkable few years for the 50 year-old, whose memorable performance in 2011's Warrior began a huge upswing in fortune for a career that began over 20 years ago. Until recently, Grillo was arguably best known for his role in the first season of Prison Break before his turn as trainer Frank Campana in Warrior raised his profile considerably. Since then, Grillo has given solid support in The Grey, End of Watch, Disconnect and Zero Dark Thirty, and was memorable even in a small role in Jason Statham vehicle Homefront. 2014 will see the double-whammy of the Captain America sequel and the lead role in the sequel to horror smash hit The Purge which will see the actor's visibility improve considerably. After nearly three decades of working on smaller movies and numerous television shows, Frank Grillo was in his late 40s by the time he caught his big break and has grabbed the chance with both hands. A hugely charismatic actor that is capable of playing charming, funny, intense and downright bad, his star will only continue to rise in the coming years.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
