10 Iconic Batman Comics That Could Inspire Matt Reeves' Batman Trilogy
4. Selina's Big Score
Seminal Catwoman story from Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke. Cooke's Batman Ego is said to inspire The Batman in some way.
We don’t yet know what kind of role Zoë Kravitz will play in the upcoming trilogy as Catwoman. There is a fair bit of jostling for screen-time given the number of villains who have already been cast. But given Selina’s importance and the inevitable romance with Bruce that will surely come about, we can still expect a prominent role for her.
And if Matt Reeves and co. are looking for an arc that uses Selina as a lead focus, then what better to go to than Selina’s Big Score. Here we find Selina in a bit of a desperate state, strapped for cash and almost out of options.
An opportunity presents itself in the form of Carmine Falcone’s “gal” Chantel, who proposes one massive heist that would set them both up for life. The target: a train filled with black money.
The rest of the story ropes in old acquaintances, sees Selina and her cohorts face off against dangerous foes and concludes with a gut-wrenching ending which shows us that even the biggest of villains have hearts.
All and all, this would be perfect as a side or perhaps even origin story for Selina.
